A Hypermedia Environment for Managing Online Lessons based on Adaptable Templates

This paper presents a hypermedia learning tool for creating and managing educational content. The produced courses are accessible via the Web through the automatically constructed index. Courseware creation is based on filling and adapting predefined templates. These templates are compiled and linked to dynamically form up a lesson. Courses are stored in a centralized repository accessible via the Web. Our tool, called HyperTempL, through its authoring module supports re-usability of educational content and has a usable interface so that educational personnel with average computer handling expertise can effortlessly utilize it. An evaluation experiment is presented and commented at the end of the paper.
